“From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed, Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” – Psalm 61:2
The last 24 hours for me has been exhausting. Between work stresses, personal schedule, and yesterday one of my sons splitting his eyebrow open and requiring two layers of stitches… it’s been overwhelming.

My flesh, wants to be angry, react negatively, maybe even drop some foul language here and there. My flesh is not righteous. What sustains me right now though, is not and will never be myself. Instead, I MUST choose God. As the worship song by Phil Wickham says, “…oh God, the battle belongs to you!”
Sometimes I still don’t make the right choice in these instances, and my flesh takes over. Today though, I chose to turn on that worship music, read some scripture, and keep my focus on my God who sustains me. Even when we don’t have much time, it’s important we don’t pass up opportunities to speak with and worship Jesus.
