“But now in Christ Jesus you who were previously far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” – Ephesians 2:13
There are important tenants of our faith in Christ, but chief among them is our salvation of believing Jesus died for and paid for our sins, and that He is resurrected and sits at the right hand of God. The verse doesn’t say we were brought near via any of our works. That’s not to say that there aren’t ways for us to publicly declare our devotion to Him (baptism), or to remember His sacrifice for us (communion). It is very important that we know the ultimate “work” of our salvation is not one we do, but one Jesus did. It’s the only way.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”” – John 14:6
