He will turn the hearts of the fathers back to their children and the hearts of the children back to their fathers; so that I will not come and strike the land with complete destruction. – Malachi 4:6

This verse was God speaking about sending Elijah, His prophet to Israel prior to a “great and terrible” day of the Lord.

The fact is, God DESIRES the hearts of fathers and children to love each other, the same way he designed our hearts as His children to long for and love Him. I’m hoping to see more hearts of fathers drawn back to their children in advance of another coming of the Lord, because the return of the Lord our God is great for His children, but will be terrible for those who reject Him.
