And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:7

I’ll begin by saying I’m not an incredibly intellectual person. I would rather go outside and run or do anything aside from reading a book, most days. Which is a reason I have found that it is definitely a God change in me that I read my Bible, even in the app. My wife is great at reading. She reads all kinds of books to include a multitude of books studying the Bible. I’m slowly learning to appreciate it and the knowledge that comes with it.

This verse makes a lot of sense to me in that the peace God provides us surpasses our understanding of it. I look at how much others around me study God and the Bible (which is a great thing and motivates me to do more), and the peace of God remains beyond even their understanding. The most intelligent of mankind, still can’t fathom the depths of the peace of God.

With that in mind, the power in His peace MUST be beyond anything our human minds can begin to comprehend. The same human minds that created civilizations, great nations, magnificent skyscrapers, rockets and space shuttles, even massive telescopes to view God’s glory beyond our galaxy… all of that pales in comparison to knowing the peace of God.

Then sometimes… we each feel it, we personally know His Spirit, hear it, and see it’s power transform our lives and others around us. We may not understand it, but we know it’s real! We serve a God who created everything, our world, our being, and our future! We serve a God who stood in as our sacrifice so that we could have relationship with Him. That our lives, covered in sin, could be restored to Him. The power of God, His peace, and His righteousness that guards our hearts and minds is forever with us and working to keep us with Him.
