Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became a joy to me and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Your name, Lord God of armies. – Jeremiah 15:16
This verse is part of Jeremiah’s prayer knowing the judgment of the Most High was to come. his heart was chasing and pouring out to God.
As mentioned yesterday, I’m focusing on what the Bible says about joy, and I’m really excited to share my heart on it with all of you. I love in this verse how Jeremiah refers to the words of the Lord as a joy and delight of his heart. That’s what the Bible should be for all of us. That joy. That feeling of immense greatness, passion, and “delight” as Jeremiah wrote! God’s word is just as alive and real today, June 23 2022, as it was in the days of Jeremiah. We have so many reasons to exalt God, and find our joy in His presence!
Finding ways to stay in God’s presence is where I find joy. All other attempts to find joy outside of God are futile because we will be disappointed and let down. God will never disappoint or let us down, this He is the ultimate source of joy!
Give God your full attention.
Find ways to seek the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Live in a spirit of thankfulness for what God has done for you!
The joy of the Lord is a beautiful gift, and an everlasting delight to our hearts.
The below song, “I Exalt Thee” is a way that I find daily joy in the Lord. To be in my home or my truck and sing to God that I exalt Him… man what a joy that brings my spirit.
Have a blessed day!
