To you Lord, I lift up my soul. – Psalm 25:1

Who else aside from YHWH is righteous enough for our souls to be lifted to? I love my wife, my kids, my parents, my friends, but none of them are worthy for my soul to long for in the way I long for God.

Only God is worthy for us to lift our souls to. The simplistic reminder of this verse has so much power in it. The entirety of Psalm 25 was written by David as a prayer of protection, guidance, and pardon to YHWH. many times when we pray, whether we realize it or not we are praying for very similar requests. This verse just seems like a very simple and solid reminder for my communication with God, that I include that I want my soul belonging to Him, and for His glory.
