There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. – 1 John 4:18
Fear and anxiety are problems for me. A fear of not measuring up, and adequacy as a man, a husband, a father, and a Christian really gets me down sometimes.
This verse is something I need to keep at the forefront of my daily thinking, especially as I venture into new life in Christ. I am perfectly loved despite my imperfections. I’m claimed by Christ through mercy, grace, and love.
I want to strive to be a man that reflects that same love, mercy, and grace to those around me. I know that the reason we fear or have anxieties are largely due to what we think our perception is, and Satan attacking us. Satan has no voice into us when we surround ourselves with the presence of God. By reflecting those attributes that defeat fear and anxiety, we can reduce the fears and anxieties of those around us.
Nothing compares to the promises we have in and through Jesus!
