““And to Him was given dominion, Honor, and a kingdom, So that all the peoples, nations, and populations of all languages Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.” – Daniel 7:14
Dominion and Honor forever!
Something I’ve begun to really enjoy in my Bible reading is seeing places in the Old Testament that point to Jesus, and the Trinity. At The end of John chapter 8, Jesus was speaking and telling the Pharisees that He has existed since the beginning, and does so by saying He was with and before Abraham. There’s a lot of places in the Old Testament that point to this. Then even in the first chapter of Genesis, the Spirit of God is mentioned as hovering over the deep.
The reason I like these so much is as a kid, I was taught a lot about Jesus of the New Testament, but He’s more than that. That was the form of Jesus that was fully man, while also being fully God. In the Old Testament there are many references to Him in visions, such as the verse above in Daniel… in which He is, as He always has been… fully God, because He had not yet taken the form of man.
All of this points to our creation by God, for God. Our salvation only because of Jesus, and His gift of the Spirit to be with us, guide us, and lead us to Him until the day of our eternal rest in Him!
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” – 2 Corinthians 3:17
