“Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my soul.” – Psalm 54:4

There will not be a day in this world where troubles are absent. We must labor, we have responsibilities, stress, bad news in the media, temptations seemingly around every corner, and we are in this world but not of it! Our physical world is plagued with troubles and fears. Yet, we have hope! We have hope because we have salvation, relationship, and hope in Jesus.
God is our helper! If you’re trying to do it on you’re own… you’re missing out on the reason Jesus, for the joy set before Him, went to the cross (Hebrews 12:2)! We can’t do it on our own. We aren’t meant to! The gift of Jesus’ sacrifice and the presence of the Holy Spirit in us is specifically for us to have that help.
We also have each other. As Christians, and especially for us men… we need to do much better at being helpers to each other and not hinder our brothers. Our focus should be on pointing our brothers and unbelievers to Jesus, and using scripture to uplift, guide, and correct when necessary. We need to be better at seeking relationship with each other that become friendships, with specific intent to help each other. Be honest with each other. Be accountable to each other in love, with grace and mercy. Most importantly, pray for each other and lift each other’s needs when necessary.
