““He also brought me out into an open place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me. – 2 Samuel 22:20
I love the second line of this verse in 2 Samuel, “He rescued me, because He delighted in me.” How often do we feel like we aren’t delighted in, like we aren’t wanted, like we aren’t even thought about? There’s not a soul out ever created by His hands and breath that He did not delight in. Think about that for a second.
He created each of us perfectly! All of us. You, me, those who despise and persecute our brothers and sisters in Christ. Every little thing in His creation He delighted in. Our actions though, sometimes pain Him, and break His heart. It’s our actions… our sins that create separation.
He doesn’t turn His back on us though, even through our sins. The Holy Spirit is constantly working to unite us to Him. The further we separate ourselves though, the more difficult it is to see that. Such is the importance of being a brother or sister in Christ to those around us. Struggling is a part of our humanity, but we are NOT meant to struggle alone. We are called to come alongside each other. To help bring each other out into the open where there is no guilt, no fear, and no shame because of the grace and mercy of God.
Love one another. grow each other as disciples of Christ.
Know that YWHW delighted in YOU from the beginning. He delights in YOU now, and His love and mercies are never ending. Each of us, our children of the Most High!
